SOMMERHAUS FILMPRODUKTION develops and produces ambitious German and international arthouse and independent films in close cooperation with filmmakers and partners.

Producers Jochen Laube and Fabian Maubach are responsible for STATIONS OF THE CROSS (Dietrich Brüggemann, 2014), which won the Silver Bear for Best Script at the Berlinale, the German-Canadian coproduction COCONUT HERO (Elena von Saucken & Florian Cossen, 2015), price-winning documentaries like REMAKE, REMIX, RIPOFF (Cem Kaya, 2014) and Sundance 2016 selected EAT THAT QUESTION - FRANK ZAPPA IN HIS OWN WORDS by Thorsten Schütte. They also produced the critically acclaimed WE ARE YOUNG. WE ARE STRONG (Martin Behnke and Burhan Qurbani, 2015), which was nominated in the Outstanding Feature Film category at the German Film Awards.

SOMMERHAUS is currently producing IN DEN GÄNGEN by director Thomas Stuber, who won the German Screenplay Award in 2015 for its script, WHAT DOESN’T KILL US by award-winning director Sandra Nettelbeck (BELLA MARTHA), BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ by Martin Behnke and Burhan Qurbani (selected for CineMart 2016) and A SMALL SMALL WORLD by Philip Haucke (selected for Berlinale CoProduction Market 2016).
