E-book market with positive balance in 2023

The e-book market grew again in 2023 after a year of stagnating business. Last year, sales of e-books on the consumer market (excluding school and specialist books) rose by 5.2% compared to the previous year (2022: minus 0.2%). The share of e-book sales in the general public market was therefore 6.1 percent in 2023 (2022: 6.0 percent). With 41.0 million copies sold, sales rose by 10.1% last year (2022: 37.3 million).
