Investors Lab 2021: We present this year's companies. Part 3 - AIBeatz!

Investors Lab 2021: We present this year's companies. Part 3 - AIBeatz!

The Investors Lab 2021 is coming to an end. We take a look back and present this year's companies. In Part 3 we talked to Adrian Ligüerre from AIBeatz, a real-time AI beat making platform that enables users from any music level to create their own original music.

Kreativ Kultur Berlin: Hi Adrian, please introduce yourself briefly. Who are you?

Adrian:Hi, I'm Adrian, Co-founder and CEO of AIBeatz. I was born and raised up in Spain where I studied and started my professional carrier. I moved to Germany due to a professional opportunity in 2013, that brought me later to Berlin, where Daniel and I founded AIBeatz. AIBeatz is a real-time AI beat making platform that enables users from any music level to create their own original music.

Kreativ Kultur Berlin:What do you expect from an investment in your company? And what steps do you want to take afterwards?

Adrian:As many other start-ups we’ve been working with limited resources for quite some time. Now it's time to scale up to achieve all the milestones planned for the upcoming years and reward the commitment the whole team has shown in the las 18 months. The majority of the funds will be used for technology development and user acquisition.

Kreativ Kultur Berlin:What financing strategy are you pursuing or what financing channels have you used so far to build your business?

Adrian:Until now we have been financing the project with our own resources. This is our first funding round, and we hope to find a business partner that believes in our project as we do, learn and improve to reach our current and future goals.

Investors Lab Berlin granted us the chance to meet professionals in the creative industries that helped us in gaining knowledge and experience in our sector

Kreativ Kultur Berlin:What did you learn from this year's Investors Lab Berlin? Where and how do you see your future?

Adrian: Investors Lab Berlin granted us the chance to meet professionals in the creative industries that helped us in gaining knowledge and experience in our sector. Furthermore, the trainings and workshops provided us with a deeper understanding on how investors think and gave us valuable insights about how to communicate the core aspects of our business in an efficient and effective way. Now it´s time apply all what we learned to take the next steps and consolidate AIBeatz as a real competitor.

Kreativ Kultur Berlin:Why should investors invest in your company?

Adrian:The track record over the last 18 months proves that our team is capable of achieving the company´s goals as planned. The wide skillset in music production, software development, machine learning engineering and an experienced management, made AIBeatz real in record time. We developed a solid product in a growing market that make AIBeatz an interesting and profitable option to invest in. Our value Proposition: Accessible: Works on every browser, Simple: No music or production skills needed. Versatile: Endless possibilities to customize on click. Immediate: Create loops & beats in minutes. Original: Every beat is created in real-time. Exclusive: Keep rights & royalties of every creation. Profitable: Low-cost structure and highly scalable.

Kreativ Kultur Berlin:Last question: How do you build a business like yours? What obstacles do you have to overcome?

Adrian:Well, there are plenty of factors that play an important role; in addition to the required team to do so, in our case, it was fundamental to find the right partners at the beginning of the concept development phase. Therefore, we closed two strategic collaboration agreements in 2020 - with Xpresate Advanced Music School, with whom we closed an internship program; and with the electronic engineering department of the University of Zaragoza, that provides us with two PhD students every year and research facilities in the university. Thanks to these collaborations we were able to build a proprietary urban music dataset with hundreds of thousands of tracks and instruments, an AI composition system and a real-time online synthesizer as key components of our technology.
