The Federation of German Newspaper Publishers (BDZV) used today's round of negotiations with the unions DJV, dju and ver.di toward a new collective wage agreement to further differentiate their offer: "We are offering two percent from 1 May 2016 to 31 December 2017", said Georg Wallraf, chief negotiator for BDZV. He pointed out that because of the current inflation rate of 0,3 percent, even a seemingly small increase in income results in a significant rise of real wages. Wallraf underlined once again, that the gauge determining the increase should not be the development of other branches, as asked by the unions. Instead only the economic situation of the newspaper publishers itself should be taken into consideration.
